August 15th will mark almost seven years since we first met each other on the CTrain platform at SAIT during our first day of college. Over the next few months, we became friends and got to know each other better, largely through meeting up for Tim Horton’s between classes. We started dating on March 4, 2014.
Since both of us were broke college students our first dates mainly consisted of long drives between Crowfoot and Somerset talking and lunch dates at school. The two years we spent at SAIT together went by very quickly and it wasn’t too long before we were each cheering for the other at their graduation. It was then when we were presented with the opportunity to move to Denmark for a year which we both were extremely excited for.
Our time in Denmark was really where we came together as a team. Being only 20 and 21 at the time we had to learn how to take care of ourselves and look after each other as well. Whether it was dealing with setting up our life in Denmark, travelling through different countries, or learning how to adult we always did it together as a team. Aarhus will always have a special place in our hearts as it allowed us to grow into the people we are today.
Coming back to Calgary we very quickly realized that each of us saw the other in their future for a long time. A few months later on April 28th, 2018 Nick proposed to Amanda on the shore of Barrier Lake in the mountains outside of Calgary. Our adventure has a pretty good story thus far and we can’t wait to see what comes next!

To go along with our slightly unconditional wedding due to COVID we have also set up a slightly unconditional registry. Instead of asking for certain items, we want to be bought for
us, we are instead asking that if you would like to give a gift that you help us towards our goals and adventures we have planned together in the future.
